The Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Expo (HPBExpo) took place in Atlanta, GA, U.S. on Feb. 23-26, 2005, marking the event's 25-year anniversary and breaking previous attendance records.
APPLIANCE editors attended the Expo, sponsored by the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association (HPBA), at the Georgia World Congress Center along with a record of 12,000 attendees and 444 exhibiting companies displaying the latest innovations in outdoor cooking and heating technologies.
Exhibiting companies displayed new product designs, innovative technologies, and product improvements designed around home design trends and industry standards. An estimated 20 percent of exhibitors were new to the event and showcased products for the first time at the Expo.
The Expo also featured an outdoor burn area, where exhibiting companies could fire-up new grill and hearth products to show them in action. This year marked the largest outdoor area in the event's history with 72 exhibitors, including Napoleon Fireplaces & Grills, Lynx Professional Grills, Electrolux, Heat & Glo, and Cal Spa.
"The outdoor concept is a unique way to display the latest and greatest while allowing the product to really speak for itself," Christopher Schroeter, operations manager for Napoleon, told APPLIANCE. "The show really brings the entire industry together and incorporates the outdoor cooking and patio experience in its own element."
The 26th HPBExpo is set to take place on March 8-11, 2006 in Salt Lake City, UT, U.S. at the Salt Palace Convention Center.
