Thomson Finalizes Transfer of Italian Tubes Activity

Consumer electronics maker Thomson announced that it has closed the transaction regarding the transfer of its Italian tubes manufacturing facility in Anagni, Italy to Videocon, one of lndia's leading manufacturer of consumer electronics and white goods.

According to the company, the transfer will enable the development of new manufacturing operations on site in order to progressively replace the production of color picture tubes.

The official ceremony, presided by Undersecretary Gianni Letta, took place in Rome and was attended by representatives of Thomson and Videocon; Indian Ambassador, Himachal Som; Minister for Production Activities, Antonio Marzano; Vice President of Lazio Region, Giorgio Simeoni; President of Frosinone Province, Francesco Scalia; Mayor of Anagni, Franco Fiorito; and national and provincial secretaries of five major trade union organizations.
