AK Steel announced that it has been named as one of "America's Most Admired Companies" by Fortune magazine. The listing will appear in the March 7, 2005 edition of the financial publication.
According to Fortune, ratings for the list result from a survey of 10,000 executives, directors, and securities analysts. The surveys rate eight criteria, including innovation, employee talent, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment, and quality of products and services.

Headquartered in Middletown, OH, U.S., AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products for the appliance industry and other manufacturing markets
