Electrolux Kelvinator Ltd. (EKL), the Indian subsidiary of AB Electrolux of Sweden, plans to launch a slew of new products and models this month.

For the first time in India, EKL will launch branded built-in kitchen appliances in the hobs and hoods category. "We are in the process of finalizing a brand name for this product range, and we are confident of its success," said Aja Kapila, EKL's vice-president of Sales & Marketing.

"The demand for modular kitchens is increasing by the day, especially in bigger cities. Though the market is niche, there is a definite demand in this category," Mr. Kapila added.

In addition to the built-in models, EKS is introducing eight new models in refrigerators, nine new models in microwaves, eight new models in air-conditioners, and three new models in washing machines.

"With a series of new launches in the offing in washing machines, kitchen products, floor cleaner, air-conditioners and microwave category, we expect around 25- to 30-percent growth in revenue this year," said Mr. Kapila.

EKL also plans to strengthen its dealer presence. It is currently serviced by 4000 dealer networks, and the company is setting up exclusive showrooms called 'Electrolux Homes' across India. It has plans of setting up some 50 Electrolux Homes by the end of 2005 in the country. (Hindustan Times)
