Japanese appliance maker Sanyo unveiled seven models of duct split air-conditioners for the Middle Eastern market.

The entire series of ducted split air-conditioners comes with a hydrophilic-coating on the condensing fins, providing anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion properties to the units that are exposed to harsh weather conditions of temperature and humidity.

"Sanyo aims to step up its air-conditioning equipment market share in GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) from its current 4.0 percent to 10 percent in 2005. Duct split air-conditioners address almost 80 percent of the regions' residential and commercial air-conditioning projects requiring direct expansion systems," said Tetsuji Okui, managing director. These unitary types of air-conditioning units come with built-in safety protection devices protecting the unit from being exposed to both high-pressure and low-pressure conditions, he added.
