Focus Products Group, LLC announced that it has completed its acquisition of Jerdon Products, a division of small appliance maker Applica Inc. As a result of the merger, projected revenues of the privately held organization will be in excess of U.S. $150 million with 120 employees. The company will continue to operate under the name Jerdon Products.

Jerdon manufactures and markets personal care products and accessories available at retailers such as Bed, Bath & Beyond, Linens & Things, and JC Penney. Jerdon's First Class(R) products include mirrors, hair dryers, irons, and coffee makers for hotel, motel, and resorts applications.

"The acquisition of Jerdon is consistent with our long range strategic growth plans," Keith Jaffee, CEO, said. "As with our recent acquisitions of Chicago Metallic and West Bend Housewares, we are broadening our product offerings while leveraging our housewares expertise to better serve our retail partners."

Mr. Jaffee added that with the Jerdon acquisition, Focus plans to optimize the opportunity to partner in the hospitality market with Applica's Black & Decker brand. "The Jerdon acquisition brings us full circle back to our origin as manufacturers and suppliers to the foodservice and hospitality markets," he said. "We view this acquisition as an ideal opportunity to add another highly regarded and synergistic growth component to Focus Products Group."
Jerdon Product's sales, marketing, and customer service functions will remain in their current Richardson, TX, U.S. location, while Jerdon's warehousing will be integrated into Focus Product Group's Vernon Hills, IL, U.S. headquarters and distribution facility.

Focus Products Group is a portfolio company of Focus Investments, Inc., which was established in 2001 to make acquisitions of consumer products and foodservice equipment companies. Earlier in 2004, Focus Products Group acquired Chicago Metallic, the Retail Bakeware Division of C.M. Products, and its Amco Houseworks division acquired Utensils of Mexico, a San Luis Obispo, CA, U.S. maker of manual juicer products.
