HP Sues ReignCom for Trademark Misuse

U.S. computer maker Hewlett Packard Co. (HP) filed a trademark infringement lawsuit again South Korean digital music player maker ReignCom Ltd. over the Korean firm’s alleged use of its brand name HP.

Palo Alto, CA, U.S.-based HP contended in court papers filed with the Seoul Central District Court that ReignCom had infringed its trademark selling its "iHP" MP3 player.

HP said it wanted the South Korean court to forbid ReignCom from using the brand name and sought 100 million won (U.S. $87,000) in damages.
