Whirlpool Corporation announced that it has reached an agreement with steel supplier Ispat Inland Inc. regarding their litigation filed in Berrien County, Michigan Circuit Court (Michigan, U.S.). The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

In late May, Whirlpool issued a temporary restraining order against Ispat that required the supplier to continue providing steel to the appliance maker under the terms of a supply agreement between the two companies. Whirlpool maintained that terms of the agreement obligated Ispat to supply its requirements for specific types of steel used in the manufacture of clothes washers, dryers, and dishwashers in the U.S.

In June, the companies jointly announced that they reached a confidential agreement that paused the litigation for 45 days while Whirlpool's steel supply was secured, allowing the temporary restraining order against Ispat to be dissolved.
