Sanyo Electric Co., LTD has adopted Forte's SystemC behavioral synthesis product, Cynthesizer, to help in the implementation of Sanyo's high-performance designs for multimedia and other consumer semiconductor devices.

Cynthesizer is a behavioral synthesis tool that offers designers a complete, automated path from high-level algorithms to RTL, including synthesis, verification, and co-simulation.

Fumiaki Nagao, a senior staff member at Sanyo, said he expects the Cynthesizer to help cut months off Sanyo's product design cycles.

"As a leader in the consumer electronics market, Sanyo must continue to deliver high-quality, leading-edge products to our customers. To effectively implement our design algorithms in the latest high-performance processes, we need a behavioral synthesis product to deliver high-quality RTL," Mr. Nagao stated. "Forte's Cynthesizer has demonstrated its ability to quickly synthesize high-quality RTL from complex algorithms without sacrificing quality of results."
