Panasonic, a division of Matsushita Electric Corporation of America, announced the introduction of its new Pro-Curve(TM) men's shaver.

The electric shaver, model ES8095NC, is said to feature Panasonic's Pivot Action Shaving System, an adjustable pivoting head, and a 13,000-rpm patented linear motor.

In the Turbo Cleaning Mode, the motor can shift to 17,000 rpm while decreasing the blade movement to allow for efficient removal of residue on the blades. In addition, the shaver's inner blade is angled at 30 degrees -- versus the 45- to 90-degree range offered by conventional electric shavers -- to reportedly perform a more precise, straight cut.

The shaver has a lightweight, curved design with a rubber grip and features a pivoting shaver head that follows the contours of the face. A five-stage LED battery monitor allows users to keep track of available power, and an induction charging system is said to fully charge the unit in just 1 hr. The shaver can also be placed on a base for 5 min and will have enough power for one shave.

A slide-up, full-width trimmer is included with the shaver, which has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of U.S. $199.99.
