South Korean home appliance makers have started to lower the prices of digital TVs, taking a cue from a government policy aimed at promoting the spread of digital TVs ahead of the opening of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.

LG Electronics Inc., said to be the country's number-two electronics company, said it will sell 28-in picture-tube digital TVs for 990,000 won (approx. U.S. $850), down from 1.05 million won (approx. $902), and 32-in high-definition TVs for 1.39 million won, down from 1.49 million won. (Yonhap)
