Retailer Sears, Roebuck and Co. announced that it has named Catherine David to the post of vice president and general manager of The Great Indoors. She will be responsible for merchandising, marketing, and operations. Ms. David replaces Jeff Jones, who was promoted to executive vice president of Merchandising Operations for Sears in April of 2004.

Ms. David has held senior leadership roles at Target Corporation, where her responsibilities during her 12-year tenure included oversight of the customer direct business, merchandise planning, buying, and marketing. Most recently, she served as president of Newell-Rubbermaid's Burnes Group, considered the world's largest supplier of photo frames and related products.

Ms. David will report to Beryl Buley, Sears' senior vice president and general merchandise manager of Home Stores.
