Steelcase International President Resigns

Office furntiure maker Steelcase Inc. said today that Robert W. Black, president of Steelcase International, will resign to assume an executive position at Sammons Enterprises Inc., a privately-held conglomerate in Dallas, TX. Black will remain with Steelcase through early August and a succession plan will be announced by July 1.

Steelcase, with headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI, U.S., the company is said to have led the global office furniture industry in sales every year since 1974. Its product portfolio includes interior architectural products, furniture systems, technology products, seating, lighting, storage, and related products and services. Fiscal 2004 revenue was approximately U.S. $2.3 billion. Steelcase Inc. and its subsidiaries have dealers in more than 900 locations, manufacturing facilities in over 35 locations, and approximately 14,000 employees.
