Zephyr Ventilation to Offer Signature Hood Line

Zephyr Ventilation announced it will partner with Fu-Tung Cheng of Cheng Design to offer an exclusive line of high-end ventilation hoods. The company said it is focusing on the trend in fashion and home products of partnering with an award winning artist and designer, with the goal to increase sales by 40 percent in the next 3 to 5 years.
According to Zephyr, the ventilation hood industry currently consists of 3.5 million units, of which 10 percent are in the high-end category. Those high-end ventilation hoods account for 40 percent of the total revenue in the hood industry, and Zephyr claims that it makes up 26 percent of that total. The ventilation hood maker believes an exclusive partnership with Fu-Tung Cheng will help drive traffic, build brand recognition, and increase their market share by another 10 percent.
"Zephyr has ventured into an untouched area in the ventilation hood market," notes Alex Siow, vice president of Sales and Marketing. "We believe by introducing the world's first signature hood line, this partnership will challenge the market as we create an overall better product for the consumer."
The new Cheng Design by Zephyr line will consist of three models offering an alternative to what Zephyr calls "large, bulky restaurant-style hoods" that currently exist in the marketplace for pro-style ranges. The Okeanito hood, featuring organic, clean sculpted lines, is adapted from Cheng's original Okean custom hood. The new Trapeze island hood features a slow-curve canopy/ The Shade hood, inspired by the functionality of a matchbook cover, features a hinged design, with "never before seen innovative interchangeable custom front panels," according to Zephyr.
The company plans to release its first phase of products in early October and has discussed ideas for other signature Cheng Design by Zephyr products in the near future.
