Business appliance retailer OfficeMax(R) announced that it will celebrate the grand opening of its new Bayamon, Puerto Rico superstore on June 13.

The 18,000-sq-ft store will employ 30 full- and part-time associates and is the ninth OfficeMax store to open in Puerto Rico.

"We appreciate the outstanding support of our customers who have made it possible to open our ninth store in Puerto Rico," Gary J. Peterson, president & COO of OfficeMax, said in a statement. "We are pleased to continue bringing our relentless customer focus, extraordinary product selection and total office solutions to consumers, businesses and organizations."

The OfficeMax superstore will reportedly offer the following features:

  • CopyMax(SM) full-service copy and print center, offering digital printing, color copying and desktop publishing.
  • FurnitureMax(SM), featuring ready-to-assemble office furniture and a design assistance center.
  • New store interior design, more product signage, and lower sight lines, allowing shoppers to see where they want to go as they enter the store. In addition, products will be arranged by categories.
  • MaxInstall(TM), providing professional computer installation service.
  • Employees outfitted with wireless headsets to enable quick answers about products or services, thanks to direct communication with information resources.

As part of the grand opening, Hewlett Packard will provide in-store product demonstrations on June 13-19, and Lexmark will demonstrate products from June 21-26.
