Lennox Industries, a provider of integrated home comfort systems, announced that it is launching the "Lennox Home Comfort Makeover(TM) Contest," set to begin May 15, 2004 through Aug. 31, 2004.
As part of the contest, Lennox is searching the U.S. and Canada for the most uncomfortable home in North America. One homeowner will receive a complete home comfort and interior design makeover, including a new Lennox Integrated Home Comfort system configured specifically for their home.
To help launch the contest, Lennox has partnered with environmental interior design expert Bernadette V. Upton. A 35-year veteran of the interior design industry and president of the American Society of Interior Designers Florida-South Chapter, Mr. Upton serves as a spokesperson for Lennox on indoor air quality and home comfort issues, and will serve as a contest judge, and will implement the grand-prize home comfort makeover.
"Home comfort is not just about having a beautiful house. It's also about making your home more breathable," said Mr. Upton, who is accredited by the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environment Design program and certified by the National Environmental Health Association. "There are a number of elements that go into making a home more comfortable and livable, including things you see and things you don't see -- from the right accessories and furnishings to the highest level of indoor air quality."
The grand-prize winner of the Lennox Home Comfort Makeover Contest will receive personal consultations with a Lennox home comfort specialist and Mr. Upton, a U.S. $25,000 allowance for the complete interior design makeover; and a new Lennox Integrated Home Comfort system. The Integrated Home Comfort system allows the user to control the humidity and customize the airflow throughout the house while removing air pollutants. Four runners-up each will receive a $1,500 gift certificate redeemable for Lennox home comfort equipment.
Participants will be required to complete the entry form and describe, in 200 words or less, why they believe their home is currently uncomfortable and in need of a home comfort makeover. In addition, entrants will be required to submit up to four photographs or up to one minute of video footage on either a VHS tape or CD-ROM that convey the most uncomfortable aspects of their home. Entries in any of these formats may be submitted via mail. Additionally, electronic photo entries can be submitted online at www.lennox.com. Online entries will be accepted until Aug. 31, 2004, at 11:59:59 p.m. Mailed entries must be postmarked no later than Aug. 31, 2004, and can be sent to: Lennox Home Comfort Makeover Contest; 1999 Bryan Street, Suite 3490; Dallas, TX 75201.
The contest is open to legal residents of the U.S. or Canada, excluding residents of Quebec, who are 18 years or older as of May 15, 2004 (for U.S. and District of Columbia residents), or the age of majority or older within the Canadian province in which they reside as of May 15, 2004 (for Canadian residents), and must own their own home with a central heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system. The grand-prize winner and four runners-up will be announced on or around Sept. 15, 2004. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
