Floor care company Eureka of Bloomington, IL, U.S. has released what it claims is the next generation in carpet shampooer/extractors -- the Atlantis(TM).
According to the company, the new floor care appliance, which features a new folding looped handle, was based on research that shows consumers aren't cleaning carpets as often as they'd like because current shampooers are too bulky, difficult to handle, and hard to store. Eureka reported that 42 percent of the surveyed consumers said they would shampoo their carpets more often if machines were easier to use, while 40 percent said they desire shampooers that are smaller or lighter.
"We listened when consumers told us about their dissatisfaction with traditional carpet shampooers and the need for better machines," said Scott Bolbock, senior director of Marketing for Eureka. "We created the first hassle- free extractor that is easy to set-up, easy to use, and conveniently stored in a third of the space of other extractors, without sacrificing performance."
The Atlantis is said to use a no-assembly-required design that allows consumers to go from box to carpet by just adding water. Its looped "easy push" handle offers greater control and maneuverability with less physical effort, Eureka claims. When cleaning is complete, the handle folds down for easier storage.
The new carpet shampooer also features a beltless lateral scrubbing head, which utilizes direct-drive technology. Additional features include the variable-speed Turbo Nozzle for deep cleaning carpets, stairs, and upholstery, and multi-surface cleaning attachments for bare floors.
The appliance's three-tank system -- a shampoo tank, clean water tank, and recovery/waste water tank -- is reportedly simple to fill and empty. To remove or install the tanks, Eureka says users simply snap them in and out of place. Atlantis also includes a removable tool caddy to eliminate the added weight while cleaning the carpet.
The Eureka Atlantis is currently available and retails from U.S. $199.99 for the base model, to $229.99 for the deluxe model with Turbo Nozzle and bare floor cleaning attachments.
