Sony Electronics President and COO Dick Komiyama announced that Sony will be moving its entire consumer electronics (CE) headquarters to San Diego, CA, U.S. by the end of the year.
"We believe that San Diego is one of the top technology cities in the country," Mr. Komiyama said.”
San Diego Mayor Dick Murphy said he was pleased to welcome the company's leaders to the area.
"It's a huge win for San Diego," he said. "San Diego has managed to attract a creative class of people that make up a rich labor pool for technology companies."
Sony has also announced that it will outfit Petco Park, the home of the San Diego Padres baseball team, with more than 800 televisions, of which more than one-third will be high definition. (PC World.com)
