Tilia, Inc. and Tilia International, Inc. have reached an agreement with The Holmes Group, Inc. and its subsidiary The Rival Company to resolve patent infringement litigation pending in federal court in San Francisco, CA, U.S. and before the International Trade Commission in Washington, D.C., U.S.

Tilia, the owner of patents covering the FoodSaver line of home vacuum sealers, commenced patent infringement proceedings against Rival last year when Rival introduced new versions of its Seal-A-Meal home vacuum sealers. Rival counterclaimed against Tilia.

By virtue of the agreement that the two companies have now reached, the parties have mutually agreed to settle their various claims in all of the proceedings.

Tilia continues to pursue FoodSaver-related patent infringement claims against Applica Consumer Products, Inc. and ZeroPack Co. Ltd., both of which are also pending in the federal courts and before the International Trade Commission.
