Swedish appliance maker Electrolux announced that The Woolmark Company has endorsed its new Electrolux AquaClean system. The appliance maker says this is a first for the Woolmark Certification in professional fabric care.
The endorsement was issued during the signing of a formal agreement between Electrolux Laundry System (ELS) and The Woolmark Company.
The AquaClean system is a water-based cleaning process that can reportedly handle both delicate garments and normal laundry in the same machine.
"We consider the AquaClean system a major advance in the care of 100 percent wool and wool blend fabrics," said David Conners, managing director of The Woolmark Company. "The Woolmark endorsement of this innovative system is the result of extensive testing, collaboration, and development. The AquaClean_ System delivers superb cleaning efficiency and fabric care of the highest standard. We are particularly impressed with the exceptional after wash appearance of the wool products in the way the system revitalizes wool's natural luster and softness," Mr. Conners added.
Ettore Gregorini, president of ELS, said the company is very proud to have been selected as Woolmark's first partner for professional laundry care systems. "The new working relationship between our two respected companies will allow professional laundries who want to increase their business to invest confidently," he said.
"The latest equipment," Mr. Gregorini continued, "features advanced components that enable automated hand washing, so even 100-percent wool or wool-blend garments can be safely laundered. This process is known as wet-cleaning and uses environmentally safe chemicals, unlike traditional dry-leaning which uses petroleum distillates and leaves a characteristic odor."
