HP announced it has been named as one of the leading suppliers of technology for small- and medium-size businesses (SMB) by information technology research firm Gartner, Inc. Since releasing its SMB strategy and products with its "Smart Office" launch, including printers, software, servers, and support services in September 2003, HP says it is well positioned to see significant growth for its products and services in the SMB market.

"HP has great brand appeal among SMBs and that the brand is associated with providing quality and reliable products and services," said John Brennan, senior vice president of worldwide SMB, HP. "HP's Smart Office is seen as having a solid foundation for continued, significant growth for our products and services in the SMB market, and an edge in the solutions area that its competitors have not yet addressed.

HP said it plans to continue to leverage its market-leading position in imaging and document management solutions for SMBs. Additionally, it plans to continue its growth by increasing its global presence, developing printing and imaging products, and ensuring that HP technology is easy to own through support and financing options.
