Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) announced that certain portable lamps manufactured in China, exported by Four Star (Group) International in Taiwan, and sold at Big Lots stores throughout the U.S., are marked with counterfeit UL labels. The lamps do not meet the UL Standard for Safety and are said to potentially pose shock hazards.

Although the lamps do have UL holographic labels, the products do not meet UL standards. The lamps were sold at several Big Lot stores throughout the U.S., including New York, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Florida, Oregon, South Carolina, and California.

UL has asked consumers to discontinue use of the product and return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
