The North American Retail Dealers Association (NARDA) named Thomas Drake its president/CEO. Mr. Drake will be responsible for implementing NARDA's strategic plan and vision, marketing NARDA membership to the industry, and representing the interests of retailers within and outside the industry.
A Certified Association Executive (CAE), Mr. Drake has a wide range of marketing, communications, and sales experience in corporate, trade association, and government areas.
In his previous position as senior vice president, Consumer Brands at Edelman, a public relations agency, Mr. Drake provided senior level counsel in marketing communications strategy and programming to a wide range of clients, including major retail companies and not-for-profit organizations.
He also spent 11 years at the National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA), an international retail trade association. Most recently, he was vice president of Sales and Marketing.
NARDA is a not-for-profit trade association with members throughout North, Central, and South America. Its members are independent retailers primarily of kitchen and laundry appliances, consumer home electronics, furniture, and computers.
