Cooking appliance maker Küppersbusch announced that it has been selected through a juried competition as Best Product of 2003.
The award, given by the publication Architectural Record, included a jury of six architects and product designers, who were instructed to focus on products that stood out for their problem solving attributes, as well scale, balance, and aesthetics.
According to Küppersbusch, there were more than 3,000 entries. Out of the 100 finalists, Küppersbusch was nominated for the EEB 9800 and 6800, Simply Digital Okotherm Oven, and the Profi-Cook Center featuring Sensor Touch and Pan-Detection.
In addition to the juried competition, the Profi-Cook Center was one of 13 products selected by the publication's editor, Rita Catinella, as “a standout product that made an impression” as well as “going a step beyond the expected”.
"On behalf of Küppersbusch HG, Küppersbusch USA would like to thank Architectural Record for this unique honor and privileged recognition," Kevin M Henry, director of National Sales and Marketing in a written statement. "And as we have for over 127 years, Küppersbusch will continue to push the envelope at every opportunity to create proprietary design solutions and exclusive product details."
