Eastman Kodak Company announced that its board of directors has elected Richard G. Brown Jr. as controller.

The company also named Mark V. Gulling, chief information officer, to the new position of director, Global Shared Services. Mr. Gulling remains a corporate vice president.

In addition, Kim E. VanGelder was named to succeed Mr. Gulling as chief information officer. She is currently director, Global IT, Digital & Film Imaging Systems.

Mr. Brown previously was a partner at Ernst & Young LLP, serving SEC registrants and privately held companies in such industries as consumer products, manufacturing and services. Mr. Brown replaces Robert P. Rozek, who was promoted in September to director and vice president, Finance, for Kodak's European, African and Middle Eastern Region (EAMER).

Mr. Gulling joined Kodak in 1974 and has held a number of management positions in the company's Information Systems department.

Under Mr. Gulling's leadership, the newly formed Global Shared Services function will be responsible for consolidating shared internal operations. Examples of operations currently under consideration for inclusion are customer and employee contact centers, as well as certain transactional operations within Human Resources, Finance & Administration, and Purchasing.

Ms. VanGelder joined Kodak in September 1984 and has held a variety of assignments of increasing responsibility, all in the Information Technology arena.
