Berlin, Germany-based Amphony, a startup technology company that provides digital wireless headphones and audio transmitter products, will debut what it claims to be the first 5.8-GHz Digital Wireless RF headphones at the 2004 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), scheduled in January in Las Vegas, NV, U.S.

The headphones, according to the company, will become the top-of-the-line model in its line of digital wireless headphones.

"The Model 2500 will provide true CD quality wireless digital audio without any audio compression as well as the same audiophile sound quality our customers are accustomed to from our Model 2000," Gunter Fellbaum, marketing director at Amphony, said in a statement. "By transmitting the audio signal at 5.8 GHz instead of 2.4 GHz, the Model 2500 further eliminates interference problems that may occur with other 2.4-GHz devices, such as microwave ovens, wireless networks, cordless telephones, or Bluetooth devices."
