Indian Flat TV Market Almost Doubles Between Jan-Sept

The Indian flat television market almost doubled between January-September this year, crossing the 500,000 unit mark and accounting for 10.4 percent of total color television (CTV) sales during the period, according to market research agency ORG.

Among the CTV market players, Samsung was the flat television segment leader with 24.6-percent share of the market and sales of 210,000 units, followed closely by Sony with 23.6-percent market share, ORG data showed.

Korean electronics company LG came in third place with a 21.7-percent share, followed by Onida (8.6), Philips (6.2), Sansui (5.3), Videocon (4.4), and BPL (1.4), ORG reported.
