NEC to Increase Shipments of Mobile Handsets Abroad Oct 31, 2003 |

NEC Corp said it aims to boost annual shipments of mobile handsets for overseas markets by 2.5 times to 12.5 million units in 3 to 4 years from about 5 million units in the year to March 2004.
Under a 3- to 4-year business plan starting with the year to March 31, the major electronics maker plans to cut costs by more than 300 billion yen a year and raise the ratio of operating profit to sales to 7 percent from 2.6 percent for fiscal 2003, NEC President Akinobu Kanasugi said. (Kyodo News)
