The Singing Machine Company, which develops and distributes a full line of consumer-oriented karaoke machines and music under The Singing Machine(R), MTV(R), Nickelodeon(R), Hard Rock Academy(R), and Motown(R) brand names, announced that chief operating officer Yi Ping (Y.P.) Chan has been named to the additional posts of interim CEO and director. Mr. Chan succeeds Robert J. Weinberg, who resigned for personal reasons as CEO and a director effective Oct. 17. The company also announced that Josef A. Bauer, a director since 1999, has been named chairman, succeeding Howard Moore, who also resigned from the Board.
Mr. Bauer said that the company soon plans to name new outside directors to fill vacant seats on the company's Board.
