"Work Smart, Work Sony" Truck Tour Embarks on Cross-Country Road Show

Sony Electronics officially kicked off its "Work Smart, Work Sony" Truck Tour in New York, U.S., today, unveiling an 51-ft-long vehicle packed with the latest high-definition and digital broadcast equipment that will criss-cross the U.S. from now until April 2004.

Sony products on display include the company’s new professional Optical Disc family of products, the latest non-linear editors, high-definition cameras, storage devices, playback systems, monitors, switchers, and professional audio gear. In addition to showcasing equipment, the tour will demonstrate workflow solutions designed to address the needs of today's rapidly advancing digital and high-definition marketplace, according to the company. A team of Sony experts will accompany the tour to offer hands-on demonstrations and answer questions.

The tour will bring Sony digital solutions directly into users' work places and hometowns, said the company. It will stop at more than 90 locations, including TV stations, studio lots, professional dealers, entertainment and sports events, trade shows, and film festivals. Sony expects a variety of professionals to visit the truck. Anticipated guests include broadcasters, studio and production facility personnel, post-production personnel, camera operators, and staff from TV stations and networks, as well as video professionals from the corporate, government, and education sectors.
