Mitsubishi Electric to Repair Defective Wide-Screen TVs Aug 20, 2003 |

Mitsubishi Electric Corp. of Japan said it will repair about 27,500 wide-screen color TV sets at the request of customers as it has detected a defect that causes them to emit smoke, among other problems.
The TVs in question are 6,322 units of the 28W-CZ22 model and 21,200 units of the 28T-D301 model manufactured between September 1999 and December 2001. (Kyodo News)
