Manitowoc Ice, Inc., a leader in ice machine technologies, announced the successful transition from ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standard 9001 to the next highest level ISO Standard 2000. Updating to the current status began in 2001 as a company wide initiative and culminated with acceptance being granted on July 29th, 2003.

The ISO 9000 standard focuses on "quality management." Stringent customer and applicable regulatory requirements are put in place to meet customer satisfaction needs. These new standards have been initiated to better reflect the changes in today’s business operations. As a result, there is a closer alignment between quality management systems and the needs of a business. Examples of quality management principles reviewed for certification include; customer focus, leadership, process approach, continual improvement, and supplier relationships.
