The Electrical Insulation Conference/Electrical Manufacturing & Coil Winding (EIC/EMCW) Expo ‘03 will feature 12 short courses and 3 free tutorials in addition to its full conference program of 135 papers during this year’s event, Sept. 23-25, at the Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis, IN, U.S. The short courses include Introduction to Insulating Materials and Processes; Electrical Insulation for Non-Engineers; Rotating Equipment Design: Introduction to Theory and Practice; Polymer Chemistry for Engineers; Characterization of Polymeric Materials Used in Electrical and Electronic Equipment; The Use of Thermoset Polymers for Electrical and Electronic Applications: Past, Present, and Future; Lean: A Business Process; NEMA Magnet Wire Course (includes 2003 edition of NEMA MW 1000); Executive Introduction to Six Sigma; Online Quality Learning Community: 3+1 "Express" Transfer System; and Design Considerations for Reducing Electrical Noise in Electric Motors. The 3 free tutorials are Troubleshooting Motor and Magnet Materials and Processes, Creative Process in Engineering, and Developments in the Chinese Electrical Industry.

Sponsored by the National Electrical Manufacturing Association (NEMA), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Association (EMCWA), EIC/EMCW Expo ‘03 will also include five specialized pavilions for the global electrical manufacturing industry: Electrical Products Pavilion, AiME Motion Control Pavilion, Transformer Equipment and Manufacturing (TEAM) Pavilion, International Magnetics Association Pavilion, and Fuel Cell Pavilion.
