Hitachi Home & Life Solutions (India) Ltd. (HHLS)has announced a cut in prices of its air-conditioners following recently announced excise duty cuts. "After factoring in the excise duty cut from 32 to 24 percent and the 5 percent decrease in abatement from 40 to 35 percent, the net benefit comes up to 3.6 percent. We have decided to pass this on to the customer," says managing director, HHLS, Shoji Tsubokuta.

While focussing on the room air-conditioner segment, Hitachi will this year also be launching imported high-end ductible and packaged air-conditioners by Diwali. It also plans to expand its portfolio to include frost-free refrigerators in the high-end segment, imported from Thailand. (Financial Express)
