Rise Expected for PC Sales Feb 19, 2003 |

Global sales of PCs will rise 4.8 percent this quarter, to 33.2 million, according to Dataquest, the market research unit of Gartner Inc. Dataquest predicted that shipments for the whole year would increase by 7.9 percent to 138.7 million. Last year, global PC shipments rose 2.7 percent to 132 million. Sales are expected to rise in the second half of the year, as companies start replacing aging equipment, the study said. (Bloomberg News)
