Wal-Mart Stores has set up an export office which should make it easier for U.S. manufacturers to get their products into Wal-Mart’s 1,300 overseas stores. The GP USA Export office is a branch of Wal-Mart Global Procurement, formed last year. Wal-Mart says it will handle logistics and regulatory matters for products it decides to market in overseas stores.

Ken Eaton, Wal-Mart's senior vice president for global procurement, told the Associated Press: "We think there is a growing market for U.S. exports in the other markets where we operate, and we are excited about the opportunities this new office will create." In the U.S., Wal-Mart operates more than 3,390 stores including Neighborhood Markets and Sam's Club warehouse stores. (just-style.com)
