Kodak Names CTO of Health Imaging Group

Eastman Kodak Company announced that Michael W. Jackman has been named chief technology officer (CTO) and a divisional vice president for the company's Health Imaging Group, a maker of intelligent imaging products for the medical market.

Mr. Jackman will lead Health Imaging's global research and development operation with a strategic focus on delivering new technology, products, and services that cover a broad range of customer needs in the medical imaging market. His responsibilities include managing Health Imaging's intellectual property and technology investments to leverage Kodak's existing and emerging technology strengths.

He will also steer the design, development, and expansion of Health Imaging's digital product portfolio. Health Imaging is Kodak's second-largest business, with revenue last year of U.S. $2.27 billion.

Most recently, Mr. Jackman was founder and CEO of a consulting firm specializing in technology development and strategy for companies in the wireless, IP telephony, security, and software infrastructure areas.

Formerly, he held top marketing, sales and development positions at various technology companies and at IBM. During a successful 18-year career at IBM, Mr. Jackman held several senior management positions, including vice president, Systems and Technology. In this capacity, he was responsible for integrated product solutions, technology strategy, strategic alliances, engineering services and licensing activity. He led worldwide business operations and product management for IBM's ThinkPad line and also led multiple teams responsible for product management, engineering and programming, and was Technology Advisor to IBM's chairman and CEO.

Mr. Jackman has a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Rhode Island and an M.B.A from Nova University. His appointment is effective Feb. 3, 2003.
