China displaced Japan in the second half of last year as the world's second-largest market for personal computers, after the U.S., the market researcher International Data Corp. said. A total of 6.3 million PCs were shipped in China in the period, compared with 5.7 million in Japan, IDC said. Shipments will probably rise 18 percent in China this year and 4 percent in Japan, the researcher said. (Bloomberg News) |
