Whirlpool Corporation today unveiled its latest appliances at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas. Among them was the Family Studio, a complete fabric-care and family activity center for today's home.
"Our products are very much a part of everyday life, such as providing the tools seen in the Family Studio that help people manage their homes, families and lifestyles more efficiently," said David L. Swift, executive vice president of Whirlpool North America. "The key to our nearly century of success has been to constantly stay in touch with people and understand their needs. The products we are introducing today are a direct result of this commitment and legacy."
For Whirlpool, the IBS 2003 marks the first public showing of its Family Studio -- a new multi-purpose activity area that features several breakthrough fabric-care appliances. The Family Studio combines a laundry room with a hobby, craft or workroom, enabling people to spend more time together while tackling many of life's daily tasks.
In addition to serving as a multi-purpose activity area, the Whirlpool Family Studio features the following fabric-care products:
The DryAire(TM) Drying Cabinet, which is said to shave hours off of the air-drying process, meaning that consumers can dry wool sweaters in just a couple of hours, rather than a couple of days. It also can be used for quickly drying delicates or bulky items such as sports equipment.
The SinkSpa(TM) Jetted Sink, designed for delicate clothing items, features water jets that gently care for hand-washables to save consumers time while saving wear and tear on delicate garments.
The Impress(TM) Ironing Station provides a convenient to add the finishing touch to clothing. It features an easy-to-access adjustable board, a place to store a warm iron as it cools and automatic shut-off controls.
The Family Studio also features other already released Whirlpool appliances such as the Duet(TM) washer and dryer and the Personal Valet(TM) Clothes Vitalizing System. To further enhance the look and feel of the Family Studio, the appliances can be encased in custom cabinetry, which will also house traditional washers and dryers, and provide beautiful and functional space for storage.
