Maytag may be getting the cold shoulder from some Galesburg, IL, U.S. appliance buyers since announcing it will close the Galesburg plant within 2 years. Dean Lindstrom of Lindstrom's TV-Video and Appliance says he thinks sales have slowed since the announcement in October. Mr. Lindstrom says Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid sales have increased at his store. Buyers tell the store owner they opted against Maytag because of the plant closing. The Associated Press reports some other local refrigerator dealers say Maytag sales have held steady since the October announcement. (WEEK.Com)
