Japan's Mobile Phone Shipments on the Rise

Japan's domestic shipments of mobile phones and personal handy-phone system (PHS) handsets fell 3.6 percent in October from a year earlier to 3.15 million units, down for the 17th straight month, an industry association said. Compared with September, however, such shipments rose 10.5 percent for the first time in 4 months, the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association said. (Kyodo News)
