RadioShack Names Merchandising VP

RadioShack Corporation today said it hired Christiane Pendarvis as a division vice president of merchandise.

Ms. Pendarvis will be responsible for merchandising several different product categories within the Connecting Things SBU including Personal Electronics, Portable Audio, Toys, and other Seasonal items. Ms. Pendarvis will be responsible for developing new assortment strategies and delivering financial objectives.

"We're confident that her national retail and branding experience and ability to drive multi-million dollar sales initiatives will help strengthen the RadioShack brand among consumers. She's a dynamic person who knows the intricacies of the retail world and will be a strong asset to our corporation."

RadioShack Corporation, based in Fort Worth, TX, U.S., has 7,200 specialty consumer electronics retail stores in the U.S., selling wireless communications, electronic parts, and other digital technology products and services.

Ms. Pendarvis most recently worked with San Francisco-based Gap, Inc., as a senior manager for Gap Merchandising Systems. In this role, she was a member of a cross-functional project team responsible for upgrading the company's current merchandising, production, allocation, and inventory systems. During 2 years with the corporate office of Gap she also worked as merchandiser for the company's Banana Republic clothing line.

Prior to joining the Gap, she worked as an assistant brand manager for The Proctor & Gamble Company.
