Whirlpool plans to move production of 150,000 washing machines annually from its new site in Poland to Slovakia, increasing output at its Poprad, Slovakia factory from 1.5 million units a year to 2 million a year and jobs from 600 to 840. Whirlpool Slovakia this year also moved production of high-standard washing machines from Amiens, France to its Poprad factory. The new move will reportedly make the firm the largest home-appliances maker in central and eastern Europe. (Slovakia Spectator)
