Holmes to Close U.S. Plants

The Holmes Group said it plans to close all of its manufacturing operations in the U.S. by the end of January, resulting in approximately 800 layoffs. Manufacturing plants in Flowood, MI, U.S., and Sweet Springs and Clinton, MO, U.S. are being closed so that the company may expand in Asia.

Holmes also said that it plans to close a distribution center in Clinton and an administrative office in Kansas City, MO, U.S., and will move a service center in Worcester, MA, U.S., to an operation in Milford during the first half of next year.
