Toshiba Corp. plans to shift production of DVD recorders to China from a domestic plant in Aomori Prefecture in a bid to slash production costs, company officials said. Toshiba will consign production of DVD recorders to a Chinese manufacturer with parts to be shipped from Japan, they said. (Kyodo News)
