The U.S. deficit in global goods and services trade fell 0.7 percent in September from the previous month to U.S. $38.0 billion due mainly to a decrease in imports of crude oil and consumer goods, the U.S. Commerce Department said. The U.S. deficit in goods trade with Japan, however, surged 11.1 percent to $5.9 billion, the department said. (Kyodo News)
