Toshiba Corporation announced Friday that operations had begun at its Kitakyushu Development and Evaluation Center on the island of Kyushu, Japan. The center, which was constructed in under a year, will reportedly support a staff of approximately 500 engineers. The center houses facilities for the design, development, and testing of analog ICs, as well as development of optical devices.
According to the company, the development center consolidates analog operations currently dispersed throughout its Kitakyushu Operations site, as well as part of analog technology development groups located in its facilities in Yokohama and Kawasaki. Toshiba reported that its intended goal is to create a positive work environment that encourages improved communication and stimulates closer collaboration.
