Sharp Corp said it is offering free repair of about 48,000 units of its EC-AC2 model vacuum cleaners as their handles may not be strong enough. The handles, attached to the vacuum cleaners' motors, are used to pick up or carry about the vacuum cleaners, Sharp said. Handles on vacuum cleaners manufactured between February and May last year are made of polyethylene which may crack, possibly causing the 3.5-kg motor to fall on user's feet, it said. (Kyodo News)
