Japan's domestic shipments of air-conditioners in the year to Sept. 30 slipped 10.1 percent over the year before to 6,901,805 units, falling below the boon-or-bust line of 7 million for the first time in three years, an industry body said. The Japan Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Industry Association (JRAIA) blamed the sharp fall on the faltering economy and unusually low temperatures in June and July. (Kyodo News)
