Fuji Xerox Co. said it will replace defective engines used in printers free of charge because they have caused two fires. The fires were reportedly caused by unusually high heat in a metal part. The engines were installed in about 640,000 printers shipped after September 1993, and an estimated 259,000 of them are still in use, Fuji Xerox said. (Kyodo News)
